LP: SOMEPLACE ELSE NOW (8/5/72) "The hit makes of the 60's debuts on MoWest with a totally fresh, unique, meaningful approach as a composer-performer, and she's right up to date. This should prove a new career and following for her. Appeal for Top 40, MOR and FM."

IMMORTALITY (7/5/75) Pop Recommended. *Although Billboard did not review this single, Cashbox Magazine gave it a very good review on 7/5/75: "Everybody remembers the old days- Quincy Jones and Lesley teaming up for "It's My Party" and "Judy's Turn to Cry"- well get ready 'cause Lesley and Ellen Weston are writing their collective heads off- and Lesley re-emerges with a dynamite track about a subject previously untouched. Lesley's comin' back super strong- watch for this to be an important first step- the lady's breaking out again! Five stars. Flip "Give It to Me Sweet Thing."
LP: LOVE ME BY NAME (5/8/76) "Excellent LP, keyed by more versatility than the artist showed in all her days of big Top 40 hits. Strong singing, be it on ballads, rockers or mid tempo material. Fine production from Quincy Jones, but the real star is Lesley, who has developed into a real stylist, writes well (LP written with lyricist Ellen Weston) and could easily move back to the pop forefront. Best cuts: "Paranoia," "Love Me By Name," "Immortality" and "Along the Way."

CD: EVER SINCE (12/10/05) "Nearly 43 years ago, Lesley Gore entered a New York recording studio with producer Quincy Jones to record the now classic "It's My Party." On her first album of new material in 30 years, Gore goes the pop-cabaret route via 10 songs that revel in an intimate setting. Simple yet lush arrangements surround her voice, which has become deeper and more rugged over the years. The ever-hopeful "Better Angels" -how did Cyndi Lauper let this one by? - is an absolute high point in a collection of several peaks. "Not the First" finds Gore revisiting the sassy spirit of "Judy's turn to Cry," her follow up/sequel to "It's My Party." She revises another of her early hits, the empowering "You Don't Own Me," as well as "Out Here On My Own," a track she wrote with her brother Michael for the 1980's "Fame" soundtrack."
